Chris's Photo Blog

A window into my life. I like to think my life is adventurous and beautiful, and so I am sharing this gift online. Maybe I'll inspire someone, maybe I won't, but if someone reads this and smiles, my mission is accomplished.

December Snowstorm

This picture was taken last December outside my workplace. Can it get any more beautiful? It's interesting how I've started to integrate urban artifacts into my pictures, instead of trying to avoid them. The picture is too big on the right, but I like it. Posted by Picasa

Beautiful Providence

This picture was taken from one of the Providence Place parking garages, the one closest to the convention center, on the ramp up from the entrace. It's blurry and crappy, but I love it. Posted by Picasa

Coheed & Cambria, Avenged Sevenfold

I went out this evening and saw Coheed & Cambria and Avenged Sevenfold at the Dunkin Donut Center in downtown Providence. C&C were good. Standard alt-rock screamers, and I enjoyed the show.

Avenged Sevenfold definitely stole the show, though. They had a much nicer fog and light setup, used props, used dramatic poise, and put out much more energy. I walked away having spent entirely too much on C&C and A7X apparell.

During a slow A7X song, everybody took out their cellphones, opened them up to show the blue light, and slowly waved back and forth. What a wierd sight!

Light controls, after the show.

Avenged Sevenfold. Shutter speed is about 1/4 second, so it's pretty blurry.

Italian Greyhounds

These are full grown miniature Italian greyhounds. Zoppo is on the left, Callista on the right. They look very frail and delicate, but let them run together, and they play forcefully. Growling, snapping, the works. No blood, though. They are incredibly fast. Callista in particular enjoys picking fights with other dogs just so they will chase her.

This is not a particularly good picture of them, sorry. Posted by Picasa

Figure in the Cemetary

Posted by Picasa Apparently, when the dogs first saw this figure, they freaked out. It's lifelike, but short, standing about 4 feet tall. They seemed to think it was a person standing very, very still.

Congressional Cemetary (?)

Posted by Picasa I worked Monday morning and afternoon, but as the evening approached, Brad and I went out. He picked up some dog food across the river, and then we came back to this cemetary to walk the dogs. He took the leash off, and let them run.

Washinton D.C.

Remember, the earliest photos appear at the bottom of this gargantuan series of posts. So, please scroll a long way down to my March 9 entry and start reading up.

I should probably find a different blog setup for showing mass photo series, but I'm too lazy to do anything more than keep clicking "Blog This" in Picasa.

Note! I am a troublemaker when it comes to politics, and some of the cultural and political references here show that. So, if you're offended by anything here, I apologize. At least I didn't post the "Republicans for Voldemort" bumper sticker. :)

Have fun, and don't take anything here too seriously, because I don't.

Callista & Zeppo

My friend Brad, whom I met in Austria last summer, owns a house within a few blocks of Union Station. He is letting me stay here at the house, which is most gracious of him.

He owns two miniature Italian greyhounds, both of them rescues, and they love him very much. This picture is taken midmorning as everyone was just stirring. Posted by Picasa

First glimpse of the Capitol building, exiting Union Station. Not an illustrious beginning.

Note to the unsuspecting; I am not a fan of modern American popular politics. Posted by Picasa

Baltimore. This is why American trains suck and European trains rule. Not to mention the fact that American trains are more expensive (well, actually they are cheaper per mile, but more expensive per useful destination). Posted by Picasa

I'm on vacation to D.C., so the next series of pictures are relevant to that trip. I left early in the morning of Saturday, March 31, and I will be returning via overnight train arriving on April 5.

Once you get down past the Providence slums, the southern Rhode Island seacoast is beautiful. Posted by Picasa
